This is a site dedicated to the Guardians collectible card game released by FPG in the mid '90s. This was a great game featuring beautiful artwork and a complex battle system. The game is now out of print and some cards are extremely difficult to find.
Here you will find alternate rules and game mods (including solo play), homebrew cards, and links to other Guardians sites.

C.J. Burke's .sig card #111: River Delta
Like we did for the Stronghold, First Circle of Hell, I'm submitting 5 versions of the River Delta terrain for you to decide on. As before, C.J.'s vote will carry more weight since it is his set. Here are the entries:
#1 - Frere
#2 - Heyden
#3 - Jermilex
#4 - Naismith
#5 - Whelan

I don't like 4 (Nasmith), but that's because this picture "belongs" to Middle Earth, so for me it just doesn't match.
I really enjoy 3, but 1 and 2 are also nice. All three have nice graphics and colours.
I was hoping to receive more comments too, but for some reason I'm not getting comments. I like 1 & 2 also for the Necropolis Park tie-in...I mean, those pyramids sure look like the delta symbol, which ties the artwork into both the set symbol and the card type at the same time! I really like 3, as it ties in nicely with our new-art Stronghold. And finding artwork for deltas was really, really hard.
I've no aversion to creating multiple versions of Terrain cards like Magic the Gathering has done with the basic land types such as forests, swamps, etc. So I would say that both 1 and 3 should be our "official" versions.

I wanted to let others comment before weighing in. (didn't want to scare anyone off, as it were)
Anyway, my first thought (being American) was the Mississippi Delta, but the Nile Delta works just as well, if not better, given Necropolis Park.
Given that, I like 1. I also like 3. Don't know why, it's just nice.
Number 4 looks like it belongs on a Spell card or something, given the calm, nighttime aspect to it.

Cool, I like the idea of two "official" versions.
