Welcome to the Guardians CCG Page

This is a site dedicated to the Guardians collectible card game released by FPG in the mid '90s. This was a great game featuring beautiful artwork and a complex battle system. The game is now out of print and some cards are extremely difficult to find.

Here you will find alternate rules and game mods (including solo play), homebrew cards, and links to other Guardians sites.

Deck Library Is Online

While we are waiting for C.J. to weigh in on his choice for River Delta, I thought I would let you know that the Deck Library project is up and running. You'll find a Guardians Link in the sidebar called Deck Library. This takes you to a folder in Google Docs where all the decks I could find will be stored in one place for reference. There are some decks up already, so check it out if you get a chance.

The format of each deck lists the deck name, creator, which card sets the deck uses cards from, a card total (which does not include Guardian & Stronghold), Guardian, Stronghold, all cards used in the deck, and a notes/strategy section where the creator explains the purpose of the deck and some of their thoughts.

I have scoured the Yahoo! Groups, old Usenet posts, C.J.'s website, magazine articles, the Guide to the Midrealms, and other sources to build up a large list...the decks posted so far are only the tip of the iceberg. I'll be adding new decks to the folder as I have time. Hopefully in the near future I'll add some Champion's Odyssey decks as well.

NOTE: If a deck was not named, I gave it a name based on the theme. If you are the owner of one of these decks and want the name changed, let me know.

Let me know if you have any suggestions or comments...

Nice work on those decks. I'd forgotten about some of those.

I played most of those, which is why they aren't tuned to ridiculous levels. I used those cards. Plus, I was up against specific decks from my one main opponent, who generally had an Undead deck, a Small/Fairy deck and a couple others. He was a great tactician and he wasn't easy to beat.

Thanks, it's been a lot of work to compile these, but it's cool to see them all in one place.

You still have a flying deck, an Angel deck and a D&D deck that I haven't posted yet. Your flying deck was a "snapshot" and I'm curious what it would look like now. In fact, none of those decks has Drifter's Nexus and Necropolis Park cards, and I'm curious how you would have altered those decks with the newer sets.

I'll look for them. The main addition I remember from NP was the Chaks, which were defensive in nature. I tried Ba Choomba for a while, because he's a Guardian killer.

Disciples of Entropy (the die rollers, at any rate) were more trouble than they were worth, if only because I never had a die on me.

My first decks evolved from starter packs that I started tuning. Adding in cards and dropping others. The funniest exchange, of course, was my Finn deck -- I finally gave up and replaced Finn with Thak.

That is funny about Finn! I've done that too, starting out a few times thinking one way and then doing a complete 180 to end up with a different deck.

I've put a strong Disciple deck up called Roll the Bones. You should check it out. I went back to your CCC to see if I missed anything, and I did forget about Karnis the Transcender, but I've never seen him in an opposing deck.

I wonder if Dave Gentzler would like my deck, based on his claim to you that Disciples are the most powerful class in the game...
